Kernel Panic on Macbooks 2010/2011 with Cisco AnyConnect
On Macbook Pro 15″ and 17″ (Late 2010, Early 2011 – the one with Thunderbolt port) sometimes kernel panics whenever Cisco AnyConnect establishes connection.
Usually the Panic comes approx 30 seconds after a connection is established.
I found out that the following solves this issue :
If your macbook kernel panics, reboot it.
– close all apps
– shutdown macbook from menu.
– Make sure the powercord is in
– Reset the SMC by pressing Shift+Crtrl+Alt + Power button for at least 5 seconds
– Startup the macbook
– Connect using AnyConnect.
This has worked for me so far. It’s not optimal, Cisco should definately fix their client, but this is a way to at least be able to connect.
